Monster Marshmallows

Earlier last year, I found this pin on Pinterest

And thought that looked cool. I further discovered

Perfect for Halloween. I planned the program, but the weather didn't cooperate - a hurricane swept through.
It was right around this time that I realized the summer theme and that I would be using the adult theme of Groundbreaking Reads. So, I postponed until the summer. Teens had been talking a lot about it between that time. Six of them showed up to create.

Everyone had a blast creating them and fun eating all the candy.

Royal Baby Watch

Are you waiting for Baby Cambridge's birth? If you were going to a baby shower for the Duchess of Cambridge, what book would you bring as your gift?

I would stay away from the Princess books I might normally bring and instead go with Dragons Love Tacos and Bear Stays up For Christmas.

How about you?

Summer Program: Monster Brownies

We had 13 teens at our Kick-off for Summer Reading.

I found this pin on pinterest:

And decided that would be great! So I bought brownies, frosting, food coloring, starburst, green twizzlers, pretzels, smarties, and skittles. I lined the two tables in the teen area with paper for easy clean-up.

We mixed individual frosting for everyone.  They added candy and goodies to their plates and then decorated up a storm.

I added our the photos to our Teen Facebook Summer Photo Album
By taking pictures to post, teens discovered that we had a facebook page and a few of them have liked us since then.

It was a great easy program filled lots of laughter and fun.
